Problems… ? Are they a pain in the BUTT or a BLESSING?

Problems… ? Are they a pain in the BUTT or a BLESSING?

Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt like you didn’t really sleep?
No reason to wake up every hour or two but that dang fabricated stress thing popping up for no good reason?
The weight of the world is on your shoulders but why now? Why when I’m sleeping?
Even your darn TODO list got longer while you were sleeping. Ugh… what a pain.

Just too many tasks to tackle NO IDEA where to begin! Why do we as humans really have to
dig into our precious sleep time with our TODO list?

Well, needless to say, I had that kind of a morning.
And I can honestly say the feeling sucks. Big Time.

I took a step back and asked myself where did this feeling come from?
What was the root?

I then decided to jump into writing in my journal as I usually do in the mornings just to
capture any thoughts or ideas that I might have dreamt up that need to be written down
for later use. ( I learned this trick from Tony Robbins… part of my Hour of Power )

After a minute or two of writing in my journal and brainstorming I realized what the root was.
I had some not so favorable news from one of my clients that looked as if it was directed at my business
and to make matters worse, at me.
It wasn’t devastating news, but it wasn’t pleasurable by any means.

So for the rest of the day my thoughts were on what did I do wrong?
Was I not good enough? Did I not try hard enough.  Am I NOT GOOD ENOUGH?
YUK! All negative stuff I do not want floating through my brain.
Needless to say disturbing my sleep! That is just the worst.

The point of my little story is…
you see how EASY it is to allow yourself to feel not worthy, or depressed, or whatever.
I mean, all it takes is a thought to change your state? A lousy couple thoughts and your
entire day or possibly even week can be ruined… that is if you allow it to.

As I kept writing in my journal I started to notice a devilish and slightly mischievous almost childlike
smile start to grow on my face. I liked this feeling. It was making me happy.

Maybe I wasn’t perfect?
Maybe I am allowed to mess up sometimes and god forbid actually learn something from my mistakes.
How does that saying go… ? “Fail your way to the top?”

Anyway, what happened next was kind of cool. I consciously and purposefully switched the meaning of
these so called “problems” God has blessed me with today. Instead of them being problems… they are
now challenges.

And challenges I like. Challenges give me something to strive to overcome, learn, grow.

Thank God I do have problems actually, cause if I didn’t I’d be dead. And
after-all. Life is BEAUTIFUL!

Rejoice and enjoy every minute of every day my friends.
For we can not take this gift of life for granted.
Yes, even the problems… we welcome you.

Matthew,

It always helps to count your blessings, we all have those little problems that will pop up and sometimes our mind makes them bigger than they are. Count your blessings and make the best of each day!

Oh those sleepless nights! I can definitely relate ~ though they are definitely few and far between since motherhood ~ at the end of a day as super mom and business owner, I’m OUT! :)

I don’t know remember who said the quote, but remember hearing that ~ if you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere!

Our “problems” are indeed the very challenges that lead to growth and success when we are open to discovering the lesson ~ while we can’t always see it right off the bat, it will appear if open!

Life is beautiful, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing this journey with us Matty!

Oh boy….. been there done that got the bags under the eyes to prove it!

I now look at my “problems” as opportunities … to grow, learn and stretch myself. To look within and see what I can use to make myself better.

I don`t like the missing my precious sleep part that still creeps in sometimes…. but at least when I am awake, I can make a conscious decision to think about “what is right here” and not about “what is wrong”.

Thanks for the reminder Matty!

Live full out with passion and purpose!

Hi Matthew,
Great post I have does days too, when I get more of what I focus on especially the stuff I don’t want more of. A state change always does the trick, sometimes I have to do it a couple of times. One thing I have learn is that gifts come from the ones that I like the least and then I grow.
